Ordering bolts and stuff for the 88 and need to know:

Header bolt size?
I'm getting the stage 8 locing ones so if you have a part number for the set that would be great.

Brake Bleeder size?
Thought I could just order a set of them and it looks like there are lots of different sizes. I have the standard brakes if that helps.

Exhaust gasket?
What's best? or works best with headers?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the CAC James!!!

I have a set of lumn. reinforced gaskets that came from LPE on my car w/ headers and they have not blown out... I did notice in the Summit racing catalog ( www.summitracing.com ) that they have some neat new offerings in the gasket/fastner section ;)
Stage 8 lock bolts for small block chevy is Summit part # STG-8911 and are $31.95.

I will let someone else ansew the brake question.
Once again, Welcome!!!

(Check out the Mid Atlantic section for events in the area :) )

Well the bolts are now 37.95

Oh well at least they aren't on Back Order.

Now if I can get an answer to the speed bleeders and gasket question I can order them.

I just feel that the application of two gaskets gives a better seal. Headers are not as rigid as the cast iron manifolds and not as flat. i.e...pipes coming through the flange, flange could be a little warped. I just think the added thickness is better. Personal preference but Felpro is a good gasket.

You may want to call these people about your bolts

Why two sets? I assume this just doubles up the thickness of the gasket?

Just wondering . . .

James, the 2 gaskets are not really needed (esp when you will be using the locking bolts on the header flanges)
I have a fel pro gasket on my headers and even w/ a 383 w/ 12.5:1 comp ratio it has not blown them out (since switching over to the locking bolts)
Hope this helps :beer

It helps, ordered the speed bleeders and locking header bolts. They should be here next week along with the exhaust system (hoping)
