hello all,
i need to replace my radiator as soon as possible before i miss out on all the good driving weather (ragtop). i can only afford one of two radiators, its
either a one row stock o.e.m aluminum unit or a two row all copper aftermarket.
given the fact that aluminum has better heat
transference
properties but the copper has more rows, which one do you think would give me better cooling
performance.......thanks ,tom

Tom.. read my post about radiator cleaning.. and you have 4 choices
1) Buy my old radiator ( 88 vert auto ) for 50 + shipping.
2) Buy the same NEW one on E bay for 135.00 + 15 shipping as I did ( works PERFECT) E bay item #7993617077
3) Buy one out of the catalogs for a bunch more than you need to.
4) Try cleaning yours.. you have to pull it anyway.. why not give it a shot( I was convinced I needed a new one.. and actually didnt.)

Or you can buy Whalepirot's old heavy-duty stock radiator (which is in my garage) for $100 shipped... Can you tell I'm trying to get back needed space? :)

Unless you're running something that is way beyond stock, stick with the OEM radiator. I don't think it would be worth spending the extra money.

I agree with this advice, the stock radiator is more than adequate.

I can't believe someone agreed with me!:L:L:L

But think about it, a stock radiator will run you in the low $100's. A DeWitt's or Be Cool will run you $500. And for what? For a stock application on a daily driver? Not worth it, IMO. I'm not taking anything away from DeWitt's or Be Cool, they are well respected, but I just don't think it's worth it for you application.

hi guys.

i think everyones missing my point here, what i'd like to know is which would cool better,a two row copper or a one row aluminum?

p.s thanks for the offers but i kind of have my mind set on getting a new one as opposed to used.

IMO they both suck....but the aluminum sucks the least of the two choices...because of the brass. Brass doesn't transfer heat for crap. I also recently installed a Dewitts...what a difference.
