A few weeks ago I was driving my 02 vert and I rolled my driver's side window down and went to roll it back up. It would not work. In fact, all of the switches on the driverside worked. Then all of my gauges starting going nuts. I got sensor errors from oil, fuel, temp, active handling service needed, traction control service neededm, and it told me to lower engine rev. The voltage, lights, and engine worked fine.

I pulled over and shut the car off and restarted and everything came back up normal. Then a minute later it started again. When I got home, I checked for a loose battery cable and I was able to slightly move the positive cable on the battery. I disconnected the battery to try an reset the computer. Then when I started my vette back up it was OK.

2 Weeks later, I start to roll down the window and all of the controls on the driver's side pad stopped working. I shut off the car and turned it back on and it was OK.

Has anyone had this issue?
Is this a reprogram issue or am I looking at a new CCM?

Vette1003,
How long have you had this battery? The normal lifespan for a battery in a C5 is about three years, and when they start dying, they start causing really spooky power-related problems.

Also, have you tried pulling codes? We have a thread in the C5 Technical and Performance which describes the process for PULLING CODES in a C5 and finding what those codes refer to.

I bought a new battery about 6 months ago. Red top 900 AMP gel. It is funny, but the codes don't say anything. I reset them about 3 months ago and they still have no history except battery died. I did that when I unhooked it. So far I have not had any more issues. I will have to see if it comes back.

Keep us posted. It possibly could have been as simple as a loose battery cable or ground. Maybe you fixed it when you removed the cable. Just a thought....

and you can check the connector by pulling the accordian tube between door and body.

Power window motor, switch, or contact

Is it true that each time the problem is initiated by using the power window? Is it true that not everytime you use the window, but everytime the problems occurs, it follows use of the window?

Maybe there is a short, bad contact, or worn insulation on the power window switch, motor, wiring, or connector.

Hmm... and no codes? That is odd. I've always been given to understand that even shorts will send some sort of signal recognition/interpretation error code.

The short or ground idea now seems most likely to me, but you could try sending C4C5Specialist a PM about it and see if he has any ideas.

(PS- sorry for using the wrong emoticon in my earlier post... I meant to use the wave :w . I don't how I ended up with the laughing guy.)

Thanks for the advise (ALL) I am going to pull the door panel off so I can check all of it out. I have had a few instances where the window would not work. This was after I clean and tightened the battery terminals. I guess it is just one of those things.
