I think I saw a post like this somewhere else, but I can't find it now...Anyway, here goes...
I just installed the Corsa Power Pulse on my '95. Sounds great.
I have been starting the car and letting it heat up for the past couple of days without incident. Yesterday however I ran the engine up to about 2-3 k for some short bursts from under the hood at the throttle body. Now the car idles like I blew off a vacuum line somewhere or like the EGR is stuck open. I checked the EGR and it seems to be fine.
Just on a guess, I'd say I'm idling about 200 below normal and when I engage a gear, it drops even less and acts like it is going to stall.
Anyone have the same problem?
 
There are a lot of guys out there who know more about this then me but it could be something to do with your computer adjusting to the changes. A free-flow air filter wouldn't hurt...RJS:confused
 
I'm starting to think that might be part of the problem.
Yesterday I started pulling the plugs and they were all carbon fouled. I think that the fact that I'm starting it and letting it run to heat it up that it might be running too rich in that short time.
The car does idle like it is in learn mode.

Warm up

If you're idling the car just to warm up, and not driving it around for a while or otherwise getting a thorough warm up, the plugs can foul. Until the engine reaches its operating temp, the computer runs the mix 'open loop' which is really rich. This weekend is supposed to be nice, drive 20+ miles and recheck.

can you get the codes by shorting out a couple of pins on the diagnostic connector like the earlier gm products? I didn't get a ses light so i'm not sure that any codes were set.

I'm going to replace the plugs and the wires anyway, i doubt if they were changed from new. I have read other places that many guys are against the oem platinum. any suggestions on plugs and wires?

I'm not sure of your pin locations and I don't want to give bad advise, but you have what is called obdII. code scanners for these cars are very cheep (appx.$70.00) a good investment if you are going to keep the car. There simple to use too. any problem any time just plug it in. it will pay for itself the first time!
 
You can enter the diagnostic mode by shorting pins 4 to 12 & then turning the ignition "on". You will have a 16 pin DLC numbered left to right, top row, 1 thru 8, bottom, left to right, 9 thru 16. DTC'S, if any will be displayed in the speedo. Go to www.c4vettes.com
for details. Being your a "95" you shud be OBD I. :bar
 
Sorry you do have obd I my mistake. you have the obdII pin only. thank you for the correction.
 
I get it but, if I were to buy a scan tool for future use, what would I get? OBDI will have the wrong connector, even though I'm an OBDI with an OBDII connector.

Good ? Did you go to the site rabbit posted maybe your answer is there. but for now you can pull the codes per his instructions.

This is just my opinion, but you don't need a scanner. The CCM can scan every function that the computer controls. I would buy a Helms factory manual which will give you all the info you will ever need,
I bought an auto-xray when I first got my car & have really never used it except to confirm what the built in diagnostics
indicated.
If you do decide to buy a scanner you can get a cable, 16 pin, that is compatible with OBD I. :Steer :Steer :Steer
