Where is a good source for bolts and screws for my 86, in paticular I need the torx screws for the upper wheelhouse and the screws that hold the underhood lights on. I tried my GM dealer with the parts# from my parts book but was told the #s are no good. I also looked in the usual places (Ecklers,Mid-America etc) with no luck.

Thanks
Dave

I'm lucky in that I have a very good hardware store nearby that carries many fasteners that other (most) hardware stores don't carry. ;)

Good luck.

Try a shop that sells auto body supplies to auto body shops. They usually have all the correct bolts and fasteners to match exactly. The cost from these sources will be a whole lot less than the dealer or other sources. I've been able to get just about anyhing in the line of nuts, bolts and screws - they even carry all the plastic fasteners, internal door hardware etc. I see your from Massacusetts, I get my hardware from KWIK Auto Body Supply in Medford, MA. They carry the W&E Sales line of auto body hardware. If you have the GM part number they may be able to help you out.

Thanks for the reply's. I never thought about an auto shop. I will check out the local shop first. With all the crappy weather we are having here in Western Mass. I have lots of garage time.

Ditto on the lousy weather, yet another rainy weekend. Vette's in the garage all dressed up and no place to go today!
