Need Your Opinion

I just bought a new GS 3LT with nav, npp, chrome wheels for $55881 - it's new, has a warranty. There are plenty of deals out there - I vote to go new.

Welcome to the forum!
Not to hijack this thread, but can you either pm me or say what dealer gave you that price with those options?

You need to do some shopping. Both prices seem high.

From another forum vendor.

Thanks for Your Thoughts

Well I did really want the 427 so that is what I decided to go with about 2 hours ago.

I did get a better deal than I posted earlier. Some of you did pick -up that this is in Canadian dollars and while the Canadian dollar is strong right now (almost par) I feel I did get a good deal when considering Canadian pricing on cars. I got the origimal window stiker for the car I bought. In 2008 dollars this car MSRPed at 103,990.00 canadian.

You see we pay a lot more for cars and trucks in Canada. Now with that being said, and two weeks of searching the internet to prove it....I did find some better prices (5 or 6 thousand) on comparable cars, but they were in Florida, Texas, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, etc.

When I thought of going 8000 km to pick-up a car and either haul it for a few thousand dollars or driving it and rock chipping the crap out of it, and then dealing with border crossing dicks I lost interest real fast. I got this car for 60,000.00 without all those headaches and am happy as hell to basically have a zo6 that somebody else has paid a major chunk of the depreciation on and it is in like new condition.

Anyway I think I did OK and that is all that matters.:upthumbs

Picking it up on Wednesday and will post pics by the weekend. I really did appreciate all your input. Thanks again!

Congrats on your decision and welcome to the club. Glad to see you getting what you wanted. Can't wait to see your pics.

Save the :w

:beer CONGRATULATIONS.....:upthumbs I am very sure you will NOT be sorry.....your very correct about the depreciation....I just went through that and it cost me ALLOT of money (U.S. dollars-at least it was allot for me anyway). Lets see, the depreciation on the new '09 Roadster around 15k PLUS taxes and that's only because it was discounted so much or would have been allot more.....then the same with new Z06....but that one doesn't bother me....I plan to keep my 'Z for the rest of my life....(49 now). I'm curious, what prices were you seeing in Texas for used 'Z ?? They discounted mine from MSRP $83k to $72300.....I know back in the eastern part of U.S. that are a few grand less.....but not worth going after it or paying shipping to Texas as you said....Anyway....what color is it? Mine is JetStream Blue....with red interior....only 19 like that one....only 518 (2010) Z06's built....

Enjoy the ride....you'll be very happy with it.....I have not driven mine at WOT yet (wide open throttle)....it has 1200 miles on ticker now....breaking it in slowly and building it up slowly.....last weekend I was driving it back home (live 12 miles outside of town) and was following a Sunday driver at 55mph....down shifted it from 6th to 4th (raised rpm first) and then gave it half pedal....when it hit around 4200 rpm it wanted to break traction and start leaving my tires on the pavement.....(it did'nt of course-TC was on-had hit a bump what caused it)....shift to 5th at just under 5k rpm.....already at 104 mph at this time :D.....marvelous machines....LOVE my Z06.....:upthumbs Welcome to Z06 ownership!!!!! YOU WILL LOVE IT....I promise....like Z06man said....."save the wave"....:w :v

Atomic Orange

Thanks for the comments. Yes it is Atomic Orange.

Don't get me wrong, I always love going to Texas. But it is along ways from Alberta to be hauling a car.

I,m going to pick it up this afternoon and will try and take time away from driving it to snap a few pics and post them.:D

Big Grin

All I can say is You guys know what you are talking about. What a car. I am so glad I bought this baby.

I am truley surprised at how much more car this is than my C5. They are not even close. My C5 had the z51 suspension and this zo6 is like a Caddy. Believe it or not is rides almost as good as my wifes CTS. I was actually expecting it to ride rougher.

Of course I had to re-detail it when I got it home. I will get some pics tomorrow night and post them soon.;)

Grin From Ear to Ear

Have you tried competition mode yet?

I have to go Slow

Man just the simple jump in 155hp is enough to shock the crap out of me.

Give me time.

You know when I was much much younger I had a 400hp 67 Camaro. I always though that would always be the strongest car I would ever own.
You know you go through the lean years when you first get married and you never know if your life will ever be good again. Thank God for some sucesses and a lot of good luck I am actually able to afford a car like this. We are all very lucky to be able to afford a car like this.

Some people may think having a car like this is a waste of money. I will admit we all have our vices and getting a ZO6 has been mine. I have often said that any white blooded North American guy who grew up in the muscle car years always dreamed of the day they could have a car like a Corvette. I am so glad GM is able to build a car this strong in todays world.

I just can't get the grin off my face.:)
