I know this subject has been around on these boards for quite some time. I really need to know within next couple days, what parts i need to install a 1972 rear window in my 1976 vette. How long will the job take? How much, excluding the cost of the rear window do you think it will be? Thanks

Just did this on my '77

I purchased two guides and two guide plates (these go on the bottom left and right for the pins in the bottom of the window to go into), two rear window locks (hold the window in at the top and pivot to allow removal) and the seal. I spent something like $125 at Paragon Reproductions (http://www.corvette-paragon.com/). I haven't yet replaced the rear roof panels yet, I just cut access areas for the locks to pivot in the original panels and will replace them at a later date. You will have to buy bolts to mount the guides and locks since the parts don't come with mounting bolts.

Is that the only parts you needed? I am seeing under the section rear windows on that website a removable rear window wedge? Do I need this? Was it worth the conversion? Do you know where to buy a rear window tray?

The wedges are mounted to the window frame, so you won't need these unless the window you buy has them missing or broken.

I love the removable window, and I think that it seals better than the glued in original.

I haven't found a tray setup yet, I either remove the window and leave it at home, or lay it across the wheel humps.
