Never a day of trouble all these years. My 1999 has been one of the best Vetts that I've had over the years. Recalls were few and quickly taken care of. Today the first problem. I changed the battery as the old one was getting a little long in the tooth. Did'nt want to go another winter with it. The new one was charged up prior to install, took all of 5 min to pull and install. She won't start....turns over quick. At first turn of the the key, acts for a split moment that its starting then nothing but turns.

Almost seems that there is no fuel being pumped, I hear normal pump whine prior to turning the key, but no start.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Fixed it!

Went and checked all of the trouble codes....oh so many! What the heck every thing was ok prior to the battery swap.

What to do? Can't check on half the codes, the car won't start and so on...has to be a common link.

Turns out to be a no brainer. Went back to square one, everything was fine prior to changing out the battery. So, I disconnected the battery, waited one min, reconnected and it started right up.

Codes are still there, but thats memory. I'll check each one and then clear them out one at a time.

Funny, to think changing out the battery would cause such a spike to cause all those code.

Best regards,

There are several codes that show up when power to the car is interrupted. The best way to handle it is to clear them and then worry about them if they reappear because that means it is a current problem.
