New battery / radio question

Short story is I need a new battery -- Question is ... Will the radio lock up like it did in my 99 Surb? Is there a time limit for the battery to be out, as if I can take the core in when buying the new one? I have looked at older posts an it seems like not a problem for 2003? An last -- were 03 orig batteries green dot and can you still get green dots? Thanks

As long as your red LED is not flashing, the radio will NOT lock up when you disconnect the battery.

No, they are no longer using the hydrometers in batteries.

You can get a 78-6yr professional series and it carries a 2 years free replacement and then prorated after that.

Thanks! Off to the local GM dealer in the morning. They are priced within a few bucks of anything else I can find and it will be a "GM" labeled battery for what that is worth in trying to keep this one orig.
