Well, it's starting to all come together now... many $$$ later and more to $$$ to go. Talk about a money pit!

I've gotten rid of the 350 which was not the original engine. I've put in another 427, but with a little more snap. We should be getting anywhere from 470-500HP out of this baby when its all said and done.

This block was just sitting in for the time being to get hose measurements, etc. We pulled it back out to intall the clutch and all of the insullation.

Thanks to everyone who has assisted me on this $$$ journey! :)

Chrome=Money............gorgeous motor. Very nice job there!!!!

Thanks!

No doubt about the equation curtis... still spending too. Starting to see a light in the bottom of the pit... Almost done with buying all the parts.

Wow! That looks great. I would love to do something very similiar to that. If you don't mind my asking, what is the range of money you had to spend on that power/beauty? Perfect mixture in my opinion...

Pretty!

Keep it that way. One suggestion since it looks so clean. Apparently there are no plug wires attached to the engine. Consider building your own set and running them up from underneath from behind the engine with 90 degree plug boots. Loads of clearance are obtained around even the largest of header tubes. The Camaro in the link below has Hooker Super Comp headers with 2 1/4 tubes and no plug wire problems. A clean upper end plus out of sight wires. http://www.photohost.org/gallery/data/500/2018red16-med.JPG

Not to say that the whole thing looks great, but I really like the updated style belts.

Thanks to all for the compliments. It's been a lot of fun working this project. Once I'm closer to completion, I'll post more photo's. There is some stuff that we're going to do to it that going to knock your socks off. We should be done in approx. 2 months max.

Stallion... The long block as you see it was $5000 from 5-Star Engines out of AZ. All of the other components we purchased from various places (where I could find the best buy of course). So far I've got close to 10K into it. Take note though that there are high dollar items I've purchased that your not seeing such as a complete front to rear GM spec wiring harness. ($1200). I heard to many of you guys talking about these old ones catching fire! hehe! Not really funny, but I didn't want it happening to me after putting all the work into it. I'm also adding Power Brakes, Power Steering ($1000), Factory A/C ($1200), all new vacuum lines, and much more. As you can see, it all adds up real quickly! I'm also doing a ton of stuff to the interior as well, so that of course add a big chunk of money as well.

Walleyknock... the photo you saw was just the engine temp. setting in there so we could take some hose measurements. I was still waiting for a street/strip clutch and shatter proof bell housing to ship in. We were also just itching to see what everything would look like. I do like the clean look of the plug wires. I'll have to keep that in consideration when we get it totally together.

Brusso... the belt system is by ConceptOne Pulley. It's two brothers of which one was an engineer and the other a machinist. They do nothing but design items for old vettes. They gave the coolest p/s pump I've ever seen. It's very compact and the complete system is on the block. These guys REALLY know what they're doing!!! I got one heck of a deal through them... Chrome A/C compressor, Chrome P/S Pump, the the total pulley system for around $1400. It's such a simple system too. Here's how simple... My buddy and I totally stripped the engine and unbolted the mounts, then lifted the block out in less than 30 min.! The other thing that I'm going to do is use the exact same mount bracket for the Alt. and use it on the A/C Compressor to balance the look.

More to come later!
