New C5...

Although I've been a CAC member since the beginning and am one of the moderators here, I'm afraid I haven't spent too much time on the C5 forum, mainly because we don't have one nor did I think we'd have one anytime soon. That has changed as we just bought a 2002 convertible this morning so now I'll be hanging around with you guys to learn as much as I can about these beautiful cars!! Thanks in advance for your patience!

I almost had to laugh at your question (believe me, no offense intended!) because, as many CAC folks already know, I'm a real Corvette-loving woman (and sports cars in general) and have been for all my life!! In fact, it was a love of sports cars that brought my husband and I together (just celebrated our 13th anniversary on Christmas Eve), and we went to another level when we bought our first Corvette together in January 1992.

I would strongly suggest finding a local Corvette club that focuses on social activities involving women, not just guys talking Corvettes! It might take a few tries to find just the right one, but I can tell you it would be worth it! We belong to such a club and have a lot of female participation.

GS Diva-Just curious,how does your C5 compare to your LT4 in the power department.I`ve heard so much about the LT4 engines being underated I wanted to see your views on the two great Corvettes.

I wish I could give you my honest opinion...but I've only driven the C5 once and only for about 3-4 miles! Weather has been terrible to drive any Corvette around these parts so both have been confined to the garage. The GS has 330 hp with a 6 speed, and the '02 has 350 hp with a 6 speed...might be close! I'll be sure to let you know when I have a chance to try the C5!!
