My '86 needs new clutch master & slave cylinders. Anybody know anything re:needing a new clutch pedal when the cylinders are replaced? If true, whyforhowcome? Thanks.

I don't know why it would be necessary to replace the clutch pedal if you replace the master/slave cylinders, but when I had mine replaced years ago, they put a new pedal on then. I never thought to ask why, or if I did I forget what their reasoning was. ;shrug

Dunno. Checked my Haynes Manual and it says nothing about needing a new clutch pedal when changing out master and slave on a '86.

If this is being done at a GM dealership, it might have something to do with lowering overhead.

Well, there y'go. This notion was passed on to my mechanic from the Chevy dealer who was quoting nonsensical prices for master & slave cylinders. I'm ordering only the cylinders--and not from the dealer, either.
