Just bought my first Vette! An 86. I Installed a new motor and have it running, but Fuel gage does not work. Took out the sending unit and found broken parts. Bought a used one on ebay and it has broken wires on the resister part. Can't afford a new one, too many other parts I need. My question is, what is the resistance empty and full for these senders? Gotta be a way to rebuild one. And if I find it, I will write a "How to" article for other Vette owners. Thanks for any help you can give me.

If you disconnect the coupler and on the gauge side, connect the black wire
to the pink wire, you should see the level drop to empty.

The resistance from the sending unit should be 90 Ohms in the full position, at half-tank it should read 45 Ohms, and in the empty position it will read nearly zero Ohms.
