Got my first new old corvette this weekend. Flew from Detroit area to WI, and drove home a 1972 Bryar Blue, LT1 Convertible. I have been looking for a Bryar Blue 72 for about 4 years, this one needs paint badly but it ran like a charm. 2 hours in bumper to bumper traffic through Chicago, I figured it was just a prelim to next years Woodward Cruise.

Congrats

That was a long search for the Bryar Blue. How did you find your car ? What options are on the car ? Any paperwork come with it ? Congrats on the purchase. What are your plans for the car, besides re-paint ? NCRS shows ? I see that you are a member.

Nice drive back to Detroit, huh ?

LT-1 Vert, nice find.

Thanks,

Options are PS, PB, 4spd M21 Close Ratio and I believe it has the 4:11 Rear End but I have to confirm that. Its originally a CA car so its missing the smog gear but other than that, Eng, Trans everthing else is matching. Not any original docs just CA title from a while ago and maint records going back ~7yrs. At least 72 LT1 info in VIN and it only has 57,000 miles.

I wasn't really holding out for the color, I just didn't pull the trigger on anything else, until now, but did want this color. I figured I could pay 18-20K for an avg 69-72 vert, with decent paint, or get this for the same amt and put some work into the paint job myself.

Sounds like a nice car. How did you find it for sale ?
Your car sounds a lot like mine, mostly all there with the exception of smog. Not a lot of history, docs, etc. I'm currently trying to find an Alternator, which is no easy task.

I'm also taking the old paint off now. If you have any questions, just ask. Lots of good info/people on here and other sites as well.

Enjoy the new toy.
