Capable of 2000-3000 but I plan on a 750 hp range with an additional 200-300 shot of nitrous

That way I can still get my 28 mpg in city and 33mpg on highway.

Having your cake and eating it too.

Couple of pics.

Next spring is definitely looking up.

I'm just a little excited if you can't tell.

That's some impressive looking hardware. Do I understand right that this engine is going into a 1965 Corvette coupe? That will have them scratching their heads. :D

Thanks & Yep, v-6 aluminum block and heads. She'll be fuel injected, turbo'd, and intercooled. I have alot of work ahead of me.
She'll have ac only. No pwr steering (planning on steeriod setup), vbp arms and composite springs, and aluminum calipers. So the front end should be lighter even with the turbo and intercooler. I am hoping to drop around 500lbs off her.

I have a 200r4 tranny already built for her. About every billet part availible is in it and in the buick community they have held up into the 8's in 3700lb cars and my cpe should be well under that.
Hoping to have her done by spring of 2006. Fingers crossed.

Chuck,

Keep us posted. This sounds like an awesome project.

I would say that engine is going to suprize some folks for sure.

A couple of years ago we were leaving a car cruise and I was in the wifes C5 (stock auto except a cat back exchaust) and a buick came along side of us as we were getting onto a highway aproaching a hill. He hit it and I hit and that Buick pulled away from me as if I had the brakes on (2 car lengths in a secound),the wifes car was brand new at the time and I was totally discusted with it thinking it was a dog, We ran into the same guy on a friday night cruise. The fellow showed us his motor and it was heavely modified. He said if I would have stayed in it a little longer I would have caught him as he runs out of gears about 120mph. Needless to say I give alot of respect to the V6'S
PS I have since put the C5 against some other cars stop light to stop light and its a very respectable performer.

Keep up the good work and keep us posted what else have you got done on the body

vette rod- I have a friend that runs a ANS built motor and he is very happy with it. To date is best is 11.5's at 124 in a 3750lb GN. Pete such knows how to put a motor together.

IH2LOSE- I know that feeling, back in 86 I lost to a GN at the track. I figured he had a 455 in it. To my suprise it was a little v-6, by 87 I was racing a little v-6. So I figure now it time to combine my favorite drivetrain with my favorite body.

My goals are to make her a daily drive with better then a new c5's gas mileage and able to run the 1/4 mile in less the 10 sec. OH, and still go to roadrace track with the vette club and keep up with most.

I will post pic as changes occur.

Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate the encouragement.

That is going to be an AWESOME Vette! :upthumbs

I will be looking forward to your posts and pics. Good luck! :)

Save The Wave! :w

Alan,

Thanks for the compliment. I will be getting up with VBP this fall-winter to switch a-arms, composite springs front and back, and more.

On the manual setup was there other neg feedback besides the muscle required?

I currently have pwr steering but was looking at non-pwr as to drop weight and clean up the engine compartment. I am considering the disadvantages of non-pwr but I figured with 300lbs or more wieght off the frontend and the fact the engine will sit about 3-6 inches back further it should make steering reasonable. I'm in my mid fortys and do remember the days of driving without pwr steering, besides I not a girly man either :L.

I do appreciate the advice.

Chuck
