HI:MY NAME IS BRUCE KOPPING. I AM 43 YEARS OLD AND HAVE A 1993 40th ANNIVERSARY CORVETTE(PHOTOS IN MY PROFILE). I HAVE ONE BROTHER AND ONE SISTER. MY BROTHER IS 18 YEARS OLDER AND MY SISTER IS 14 YEARS OLDER THAN I AM. MY SISTER AND HER EX-HUSBAND HAD A 1969 (YEAR I WAS BORN) STINGRAY. I WAS ABOUT 3 OR 4 AT THE TIME. MY FASCINATION FOR THIS WONDERFUL WELL MANUFACTURED AMERICAN WAS IMPLANTED AT THIS AGE AND I LIKED RIDING IN IT. MY BROTHER HAD A 68 PORSCHE 911. ON THE FIRST SIGHT, I DID NOT LIKE IT AND I DID NOT LIKE RIDING IN IT. I AM NOT A PORSCHE FAN BECAUSE THEY JUST ARE NOT BEAUTIFUL! I HOPE I DID NOT OFFEND ANYBODY, BUT IT IS MY PERSONAL BELIEF! WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL, THE C4 CAME ABOUT AND I LOVED THE BODY STYLE!! LITTLE BE KNOWNST TO ME, I WOULD HAVE ONE ONE DAY! THE FIRST TIME I DROVE A VETTE WAS IN 1995. I LOVED DRIVING IT, BUT IT WAS A MANUAL SHIFT. I AM AN AMPUTEE (I LOST PART OF MY RIGHT FOOT SERVING IN THE USMC WHILE ON A TRAINING EXCERCISE) SO I AM NOT REALLY COORDINATED TO DRIVE A STICK SHIFT. IN 1999, I GOT A REAL GOOD JOB THAT PAID VERY WELL. I AM FROM SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA AND I WAS LOOKING AT THE USED VETTES AT MIKE DAUGHERTY CHEVROLET. I SAW MY FUTURE AND FIRST VETTE. IT WAS A 93 40TH ANNIVERSARY(RPO Z 25) OPTION WITH THE RUBY RED EXTERIOR/INTERIOR. IT ALSO HAS THE AUXILARY HARD TOP. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE WORTH $'s SOMEDAY. I HAVE HAD HER PUSHING 13 YEARS NOW AND I WILL NOT GIVE HER UP BECAUSE IT WOULD BE EMOTIONALLY DEVASTATING FOR ME. I AM TOO ATTACHED TO THIS CAR. LIKE THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS, THERE IS A COMRADERIE AMONG CORVETTE OWNERS WHICH IS SO COOL. I HAVE NOT SEEN THAT WITH OTHER CARS. WE ARE UNIQUE AND WE HAVE A STRONG BOND! I AM PROUD TO BE A US MARINE AND I AM PROUDER TO OWN AMERICA'S CAR: A CORVETTE! HAPPY TO BE A PART OF THIS FORUM
