new to the site , got a 99 silver coup, auto, got it july 2007 with no problem until last week, now got the dreaded service column lock message, pretty sure recall has been done because column has never lock since i have own it,from what i understand problem could be k-harness. i have pull fuse 23,25 with no good results (fuel still being shut off at 2mph)correct me if i am wrong, but it sound like my pcm need to be flash to raise max fuel cutoff speed after that i guess the clb would be the next step, by the way i know that this is not the right site to post this problem but i kinda got carry away sorry help anybody, anybody?;help looking for a hp tuner in the seattle/tacoma are

Welcome to the CAC; you will find many threads on the column lock issue; use search function. If it is locked now, you may have to have it towed to a Chevy dealer for repair. There were two recalls, so maybe only one was done. Check with a dealer with the vin number and they can tell you. If only one was done, then Chevy might pick up the entire tab, they did on my 2002. You can't install the CLB until you have the column unlocked.

Good luck and hope things work out for you. You'll love the CAC site.

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing the dreaded column lock issue. The good news is you've come to a great site with good people that love to help and share experiences! :thumb

I did a visual of just the first page of the C5 Technical and Performance forum index ( click here ) and found these threads all relating to the issue:

A couple of suggestions/things to try in this thread: CL issues #1

Suggestions from C5 owner/member Zagger again: CL issues #2

And Zagger again: CL issues #3

Hope these threads will offer some helpful information. And if I may make a suggestion, post a thread in that forum so that more members will see your thread regards a technical issue. We're pretty informal here and there are no hard and fast rules about what goes in what forum, but organizing threads is a practical way to insure our members get the help they need and answers to their questions. :upthumbs

Welcome, benjam756. Sorry to hear you're having column lock issues. With all the variations of the recalls that went on, it can be troublesome to get to the bottom of the issue.

Good luck!

Tammy

You're exactly right :thumb Tammy; with all the differant views, horror stories and fixes out there and being that I had not experienced any issues I felt it best at the time in my case not to get anything done, still haven't; again knock on wood ;shrug
