Hello Corvette Action Center Members !
I am very happyt to 'join the club' as I have recently purchased a 1961 Honduras Maroon Corvette (at Corvettes at Carlisle this past July)

I am a former ASE certified technician but now work on cars only as a hobby, for 'therapy' and mine's a great driver with a 'NOM'.
Here's my question: the block casting # is 3896844 stamped V07IIGF. Does anyone know what it is ? I have no history on the car, and would appreciate any help solving this mystery.
it has a cast iron intake and carter AFB carb as well.
Thanks in advance !

Welcome to the club , Hemifan . Do you have anything with a Hemi in it ? Cliff

I don't show a listing for 3896844, but 3896944 was used for '67 passenger car 283's, and V0711GF says it's a 1967 283 2-barrel 195hp Powerglide for a full-size Chevrolet, built at Flint Engine on July 11th. Welcome to the forum!

Hank,

Welcome to the CAC. What other sites do you frequent? I know I have seen hemifan before. I belong to several other than just Corvettes.

Tom
