I'm new to Corvette World Ownership. Just purchased a '93 with 50,000 miles. From what I can see, it will need new gaskets (door, roof panel and hatch) and the driver door sags slightly. The only other problem is the cd player acts as if a cd is inserted - it will not let me select the radio or tape functions. I can "fool" it by turning the radio off, and turn it back on while pressing the Eject button. The radio will play but when the Eject button is released, the CD mechanism sound as if it is trying to eject a disk. By holding in the Eject button the noise stops. Is there a simple fix or will the unit have to be removed?

Also, what are the areas of concern that I should be aware of.

George,

I'm afraid I can't help you with your radio problem, but I'd like to welcome you to the world of Corvettes...and to the Corvette Action Center!:w

My '93 Conv would give me radio fits in a bad rain...or slow overnight one. Had a leak in the rear deck gasket which allowed water into the top storage area....it then trickled down into the glovebox storage behind the passenger seat. When you pull out the plastic box there's a felt bag, pull that out and there's a amplifier for the radio. Check for dampness or damage from being wet. If so, as they say in Texas "There's yer trouble!"
