Folks,

the Supercar tires that came on my 2001 Z are getting hard as s*** and I don't have very good traction anymore and they only have around 11000 miles on them! what would everyone recommend as a tire to put on? I have heard Michelin Pilots (pretty expensive compared to the
GY Supercars) - what else is out there for us Z guys and gals?

You didn't mention how the car is used, but for daily driving, a fair number of people are switching to Toyo T1s or the similar Yokohama model. Not sure what the available sizes are.

Haven't got to that point, so I can't add anything else, but searching should turn up something here or at another forum.

Some of the loss of traction is probably down to cold weather. The SC is basically a warm weather, dry track tire. It's other capabilities are arguably limited, imo.

I had bad luck with Pilots on a C4 (sloppy steering, no road feel), but the C5 variant may be better. Everything makes a difference.

on the VetteNet, there is a lot of discussion on the Kumho Ecsta 710/712's and the Ecsta MX
being a great replacement for the GY F1 SC

A fair amount of C4 owners are using Kumhos. Haven't personally heard any experiences from Z owners, but it's definitely another alternative.
