My 67 seemed to be missing, so I pulled the plugs.
The fact that they are so easy to access is great.
Needless to say, they were in need of changing.
One in particular had a lot of carbon build- up.

I replaced them with new Autolites and wow! I can really feel the difference.

It is so rewarding to be able to do little things like this on these old vettes. That's another reason/benefit (as if I really needed another reason) to own one of these beauties!

Greasey hands are great...

That's it....I'm outta material.

Glad you were able to change the plugs yourself. Even better that you can feel the performance difference.:Steer

What about new wires, cap, rotor, points, condenser, air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, and check your timing. You mentioned the plugs were carboned up. This could be caused by fuel distribution via the carb in conjunction with timing or just driving habit...pedal to the metal once in a while. This will give you a "complete tune up", and starts you out at "zero base". ;) Other forum members may add to this.

Thanks Bluestripe67,
I'll get a little bit more ambitous this coming weekend and deal with "the rest of the story"
For right now though, I'm very pleased with the results I got by just putting in new plugs. My baby sounds and runs much better.
