We installed the optispark and changed the wires, still a miss problem, changed the plugs, got rid of the miss till we drove it and once it was in gear the miss was back, wouldnt idle, wanted to back fire, not setting any codes, will idle fine in park and you can rev it up and its find, try and drive and its like its running on three cylinders ( proabably not though) It has a funny burnt smell and when it backfires its through the intake and not the exhaust. Any suggestions?

Just throwing this out in the open and could be completly wrong... but could it be a fuel injector going bad? When was the last time that any or all of them were changed?

They've never been changed, it only has 29k miles but sometimes age is worse then use I suppose. Its at the dealer now, I gave up, tried all I had the equipment to mess with and took it to the dealer, this is gonna hurt, Im sure. How about the coil, if it was sending a weak spark could it do this? I always thought, however, that it either worked or didnt work. I thought about that after I dropped it off.

The moduel could be bad, most forget about that under the coil and replace the opti when they hear a back fire or a miss.

The dealer just called and said the computer was bad, hopefully in a couple of days it'll be back on the road. Thanks for the replys
