I just replaced my Rochester M4MC carb on my 1979 L48 corvette and it runs fine but when I stop the car the engine cuts out. I know there is a screw somewhere I need to adjust but I'm not sure where or by how much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I believe '79s have an idle solenoid to prevent run-on once the ignition is shut off. The idle speed adjustment is done by rotating the hex head on the solenoid shaft and not via the idle screw on the carb itself.

Maybe my last post wasn't clear. I meant to say when the car is not in motion the engine dies. I have to be giving the car gas or it craps out. Does adjusting the idle solenoid have to do with that? Not even sure where that is.

I adjusted the fast idle speed screw on the carb and it seemed to do the trick. Is there any reason why doing that would be bad?
