Just received new pre-installed leather seats from Mid-America. These are the ones that you simply remove the old cushions and covers and snap the new ones in. Sounds easy enough but there has to a tip to make it easier.

Anyone have any experience with these pre-installed seats?

thanks!

mid america, good products, but they forgot we're all not experts.i don't think i've ever seen a direction on any of their products.
I bought a $30. grease gun that came with 2 pages of directions in 3 languages.they sell you a seat with no backbone, and don't tell you how to put it in.that's precious, mike

I know the feeling!!!!

All I can say is Good Luck!!!!! I replaced the seats in my 82 a couple of years ago and ran into the same problem. Trying to get those hooks on the new seats to catch the retainer on the back of the the seat frame without screwing up the new foam......how frustrating!!!!! I finally gave up and took the seats to a local guy who specializes in vettes and he had what looked like a large flat blade screwdriver with a V notch in it. Even with the tool he had it was a struggle. I would suggest you try an upholstry shop..

Good luck with it!!

Bill

There is a couple of tabs on the front of the seats that you need to push back and unclip to get the cushions out of the buckets. Pull up the corners of your old seats and look for them. Two in front of the seat bottom, two on the bottom of the back support. I think that is what you're talking about?
