What's the difference between a "coupe", a "hardtop", a "hatchback", and an "FRC"? I've been looking at C5s and need a little guidance.

Generally there are three body styles for the C5.

The Coupe has a fast back design where the back glass opened like a hatchback would. It also has a removable one piece top in either body color or tinted glass, and could be ordered with "both" tops as a option.

The Convertible.

The Fixed Roof Coupe has a non removable hardtop with a more upright rear window. When it appeared in 1999 it was the lighter, stiffer and slightly more agile high-performance model only available with a manual trans, but had the same engine.

1997 were all coupes
1998 were coupes and convertibles
1999 - 2004 All three were available

In 2001 - 2004 the FRC body was only available as the Z06 package

You can get more details on the C5 in the model center here on the CAC.

Thanks WhiteKnight. You've cleared this confusion up for me.
