From Crash.net:
Double penalty for Turner Aston
SATURDAY 18TH JUNE 2005
Turner/Sarrazin/Brabham - Aston Martin Racing DBR9
Having the pace is one thing, but you have to make a lot of time per lap over your rivals if you have to serve a 3 minute penalty in the pits, which is exactly what Darren Turner in the # 59 Aston Martin discovered in the second hour of the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Turner was involved in a battle with the lead #64 Corvette when he was served a pit penalty for cutting the track. First penalty served, Turner was back on track and pushing hard.
It turned out the Brit was perhaps pushing a little too hard, as a trip through the gravel testified. This off, which was to no advantage as he bounced through the gravel and collected stones in the sticky rubber, meant another trip into the pits to serve a second penalty, this time he was stationary for some three minutes.
Should Turner make the same mistake again he could face exclusion. Team-mate Stephane Sarazin is now in the car, whilst David Brabham will be out next.
