no luck on pke light but may be getting close

pke light stays on all the time battery in remote is good problem occured when i went to car seen hatch was open for some reason i did not do it. well when i open the rear hatch and cycle the key pke light goes out. close the hatch pke light goes on thinking the hatch has a contact that operates in conjunction with the pke any sugestions
