Well yesterday we had a wonderfull tour through eastern Kentucky. On the way home while going through Somerset with the heavy traffic and numerous stop lights, the CAGS drove me nuts. At one point I actually started into 2nd and heard an awful clunk. :mad So today I built some ramps(Tammy's prescription), jacked up the rear and installed the bypass wiring. We will be much happier now I'm certain. :) A quick test drive saw the 1 to 4 light come on several times and no resistence on the shift to 2nd...........life is good.

Be VERY careful who you are driving with now and for the next several days until you get used to this modification. At ANY given time you will be subject to just belting out of nowhere,
"Boooorn Free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart....." It could be very embarrassing!
;LOL;LOL

Dale,

I agree that the CAGS bypass is terrific low cost resolution to an irratating C5 characteristic. Tammy's write up on the installation was outstanding but being a pragmatist - I had the dealer install it while the car was on the rack for an oil change.

Tony, I'm not sure I started singing "Born Free" after the install. As I recall, I disengaged the "traction control" and lite the tires up through several gears. That maneuver will set the spirit free.

I was singing Born to be Wild while driving Remo's car the first time he fell asleep. ;LOL

Hmmm, I hear a little Steppenwolf from time to time myself ;LOL Just don't play it too loud and wake Remo. ;)

Truthfully my only concern was disconnecting and re-connecting the battery and any lost memory/code fault as a result. The CAGS bypass was a 5 minute install and I should have done it about 4 weeks ago. With the ramps built and having an understanding of what is under there, oil changes will done "in the house" as well.:cool

I didn't have 100 miles on my '04, before I installed the CAGS bypass. It really makes a difference. :upthumbs
