Hellow all, I got everything sorted out today and bought my second Corvette in this lifetime, my other some years ago and since gone. But today I went ahead and drove up to Lexington NC. and met the seller. The moment I saw it I knew it was the one. It was too clean, 30K on the odometer, and every appearance that the odometer was true. Cost me 6K and I could bring it home polish it and re-list on ebay for 9K easy, maybe more. Needless to say, I got a deal. It belonged to a retired Policeman. Nice guy. Bummer was, and a real bummer, his Mother was on her last days do to leukemia, and doesn't have much time. I'v dealt with this C3 with him for a month or so. I wrote an email to him to contact and see about buying it. He said he was spending a lot of time with his Mother in her current situation and it was only a short time left. I replied that I understood and that his primary mission was to be with his Mom, forget the car, just spend time with her instead and I'd just wait until the time was appropriate, but that the important thing was his remaining time spent with her. I must of struck a cord, he was swamped with offers of callous people, which he declined and pulled the add. A month later as his Mother's situation calmed some, he called me and then I thought it appropriate to move on the C3. So today we met, I saw it, and bought it. And I know he could have gotten 9K, but my courtesy struck a cord somewhere. But I had gone through a similar situation, and I didn't do anything another decent person wouldn't do. So he favored me with an exceptional deal, and I think a friendship as well. He has an 80 C3 for himself.
Well it was too rainy to drive home, so in a day or two when it clears I'll bring'er home. Looking forward to all of you here on the forum, with your info, questions and general gab.......Rich

Welcome to the CAC, Rich. It's sad to hear another Corvette owner is going through such a terrible time but it sounds as though you and he were able to form a bond based on your common tragic circumstances and your kindness and consideration for his current situation. If you guys did form a bond, maybe just your understanding will bring him some comfort in the days ahead.

Hope you enjoy the forums and your C3.
