i want to know what you guys do when the screws no longer hold the car together. Many of my interior scews that hold on visors, gauges, and moldings are striped. I dont want to use a bigger screw and want to know what else i can do.

Try filling the hole with JB Weld or some other epoxy. Works for me. Be carefull not to make a mess in places where it will show. Hope this helps.

As suggested, use either JB Weld or epoxy. On plastic, I use the two part epoxy that comes in a pre-filled syringe. I have found that many of the plastic parts have cracked due to age. By applying epoxy around the outside sections where the screws go, I can reuse the original screw in most cases. I don't know how well epoxy will hold up to redrilling. In that case I would recommend the JB Weld. I must confess that I have used one size larger screws for some of the interior trim. You can't tell the difference and it made for a easy fix. I use JB Weld on many of my precision shooting rifle build projects. First, clean the threads well with lacquer thinner and a small caliber bore brush. Coat the screws with wax shoe polish with a q-tip first, it acts a a release agent, then buff it off to leave a shinny coat. This will prevent it from bonding with the JB Weld. Coat the screw with JB Weld and put a little in the hole and thread it in. Wait about 18 hours and unscrew it. If everything was clean, it should look like a new threaded hole. Try one first and you be the judge. The JB Weld only cost you less than $5.
