My gal showed me a brochure for a local car show coming up in a few weeks....I had gotten the side pipes on the 64 and really liked them....but didn't like the spinner hub caps that were on the stock 64.....so I ordered today some bolt on knock off wheels for it......I am not sure what I will do for tires...the 64 has some radials on it already, I need to see what size they are and if they are of a decent size then I will put them on the bo/ko wheels. I am told that the wheels and the car will take up to a 205-15 in either a 60 or 75 series.....anyone have recommendations on what size might be best?

The car right now has white walls on it and I am leaning real hard to just having black walls.....comments from anyone on that idea?

Will get pictures next week sometime when the wheels show up, get mounted and on the car.....in the meantime, having two cars that I am putting money into at the same time...well there is just so much...so this will set me back a little from the next project on the 60....leaning really hard on a Myers IFS for it.....this made a dent in the pocket book for that project....but just a minor setback.......

My 64 with KO's is currently running 205/70-R15 WW Goodyears. They are slightly shorter than the 75 series. Looking to go up a notch to 215/70-R15's next week (if I can get one to fit in the spare tire carrier). If not, then I'll go for 205/75-R15's.

The WW look great with the KO's on my white car.

You know, Subfixer, that is one hell of a nice looking car. Got an interior shot?

Kid, Thanks for the compliment. That picture is about 4 years old. Since this had been my daily driver, and I spent the last 2 years fixing the frame and renewing all of the running gear, time has taken it's toll on it's appearance (it's now about a 20 footer). The interior is in pieces right now while I'm finishing up an A/C install and still waiting for my radio to return. It will be all cleaned up (such as it is) and put back together in time for Carlisle. Paint (Silver-Blue) and new interior & top (White) maybe next year.

I hear ya on the multi car financial drain, and on the staying focused on one project at a time. Subfixer kinda covered what I was going to say, that if you can use 60 or 75 series then you should be able to use any in between. I'm thinkin 70's would be a good choice since I don't like the handling, ride, or tread wear patterns of wider lower profile tires. ( I may hear about that one, but I'm not right or wrong, just personal choice) I am a fan of the blackwall but on the turbine wheels it's a tough call.
Any way those are 2 beautiful lookin cars. I love the 64s. I had a coupe a few years ago and I went through a period where I lost interest and sold it. Now I can't replace it.

I've been through this tire size/wheel type debate with myself quite a bit. My '66 has real KO's and whitewalls. 205/75X15's. I like the look. The '60 had 225/75X15 whitewalls and stock hub caps when I bought it. I wanted Cragar's so I turned the whitewalls inside and hit them with some tire black. For what it's worth, the 225's rub the inner fenders in the front on the C-1. The 205's give me no problems on the C-2. A friend of mine has 215's on his C-2 and they do not rub either. on my C-2 I'd be reluctant to go beyond 215's, especially on the front. That rubbing sound is really unnerving when you crank that steering wheel all the way left or right in a tight spot!

thanks for the comments and the picture.....I have a red 64 for the picture you posted is very appropriate and has me thinking....I do like hte white walls on the white car above....that looks great too....so I started thinking what about the tires with the red lines on them? I know that those are later model correct tires....but I am not going NCRS....I love my car to be a driver and make me happy.....and to be pleasing to other peoples eyes as well.....so what does everyone think about the red line tires?
