Having the best interest of the participant Corvette Owners who plan to attend this, and for the NVCC Club Members who volunteered to work the show having to be outside for a long period of time, Don and I have decided to postpone the show until May 23. This decision was based on the impending bad weather that is expected during the week-end., especially SUNDAY.
This was a very difficult call, based on the terrible track record of the local weather people with their predictions. But after checking with NOAA and Weather Channel, then considering the local network weather outlooks, they all agree with the predication of 4 days of bad weather, with clearing up next Wednesday. All state there is a 50% chance of Thuderstorms in the Purcellville area on Sunday. Thunderstorms with the winds off the mountains and possible hail are not conducive to having your treasured Corvette sitting out in an exposed parking lot.

So what are the ramifications of cancelling the show. Well it means some club members will not be able to attend because of previous engagements, and that is understandable. Yet it offers the club another challenge to pull together to do or die on 23 May.

Also we might lose some participants, but we hope not as the rain date was posted on the application and web site, maybe it offers the chance for additional participants to register, as we have a lot of give aways and very unique raffle prizes better then any show I have attended in the past. And maybe now some other club members who were unable to work the show will step come to the show.

The NVCC Concours staff has devouted many long hours to make this show a great success and we don't want something like the weather wreck the hard work we have put into this. I know our patience will be rewarded, and I feel the participant understand and will support our decision.

The show will be a success and some of the cars that I have coming are some of the finest CONCOURS cars in the area. I have been talking to the owners and they agree the rain will cause such cars not to come to the show.

The town of Purcellville and the Park have been very good hosts and know this event will grow, so its important we make every attempt to make the a first class event, and I know its going to be the talk of the town once we clear the weather issue.

Bill Kostler and I will be contacting every registered participant tonight, we have about 30 to contact, plus several vendors. I feel most will come and hope the couple of extra weeks gives us a the chance for a few more to attend.

The park has been notified and are in total agreement, the sign is going to be changed today to reflect the new show date.

Sorry for this inconvenience, but we only want to be successful and provide the show participant with their moneys worth of show and our famous "Blue Ridge" hospitality...Y'all come back now...y'hear.

SUNDAY MAY 23 is the NEW SHOWDATE....NVCC wants to see you there.

Collin,

well, can't make that date either as I will be at Wildwood trying to PV LADY!

FYI - have you seen my IM/emails to contact Mark Mercanti about any 1963 parts you may still have?

Good move Colin. I have coached many ball games at Franklin and gotta tell you when the storm blows through the mountain gap it can get ugly fast!
