I'm gonna go ahead and install my Earl's oil cooler this time around, but I need any helpful tips anyone can provide if you have experience installing one on a C4.

There's plenty of room in front of the pusher fan, but it appears as though I'm gonna have to fabricate a bracket of some sort to hold it.

Now don't everybody speak at once! :D

Ken, I'd try to mount it in front of the aircond. coil.
I just remounted mine. it's from derale so it probably mounts different. mine is zipped to the aircoil with rubber blocks between. I used Aeroequip socketles hose & fittings. WOW ther are nasty. slip on HA! any how the reason for the remount was that the lst hose came loose after a rack change and the hose got into the crank pully. real messy! I put a braid over it and moved it farther to the left. it's tight there. so be careful! if you have any specific questions I'll try to help. I've used oil coolers on the last four vehicles.

I figured out how to mount it securely to the shroud in front of the pusher fan and the a/c condenser, and I bored a couple of holes for the lines to run through the lower part of the air duct, then have them routed up and over the extreme left of the rack, above the sway bar. It appears as though it will work that way; I'll fiddle with it again tomorrow. If anything, I'll have plenty of line (it was pre-made and came with the kit) by running it this way. ;)

I'll be sure to post pictures when I get it sorted out. I had everything apart today, but now I know how easy it is to change the radiator. :D

I have no emisions crap on my car and when I go to put the new motor in her I will be installing a O/T/C combo that I will mount where the coffee can looking thing (is that called the fuel purge canister) is. It also has the 10in pusher fan so I am going to cut a hole and mount it there (providing that it fits it should) it shaoul also act as a heat extraction system in a way.

Oops, I forgot to update this thread with pictures!

I snapped these the other day when I was test-fitting it where it would be mounted. I ran four, 1-ft long threaded rods and Nyloc nuts to securely mount it in place. With the four long ones as opposed to eight short bolts, I'm sure it will hold up much better and allso help support the lower duct work in the process. :cool

I think I will add grommets to the holes in the lower duct where the lines pass through; it'll help prevent the stainless steel hose from shredding the shroud. ;)

That looks like a nice clean installation. Does the cooler have a thermostatically controlled valve, or does it flow all the time?
Couldn't tell from the pics. Nice job.... I chuckled about the need to add grommets to prevent chaffing of the lines against the plastic ... Murphy's Law would say that the plastic would damage the stainless steel line vs the line chaffing the plastic. :L :L
Either way, that's a good idea.
