O.K! first I'd like to say, please dont laugh to hard at me for this one!
I was changing out my intake manifold gasket, and put everything back together.
I started the engine up, and right away noticed, something was no right, so I killed the engine, I had a bad feeling about this and right away headed to the oil dip stick to see waht I dreded to see, sure enough it had happened, water in the oil!!!
I took everythiong apart once more and quickly noticed the problem, one side of the gasket had slipped down while I was putting on the manifold, I didnt see it, just to let you know, I was working on the engine at night, with a light that only stays on for a few minutes at a time before shuting off....yes a motion light!!! also in my "arsenal" of lighting I had a light that I strap on my head kind of like those miners where except a smaller vision.
Heres the question!! (It's about time I know) now that I've completely saterated the engine with water, can I just drain it out, and replace with the new stuff along with a new filter and I should be set?
Please say: "Yes! of course! why would there be more to it then that?"
Quick note: I have done this intake manifold gasket change many times before........dont ask what happened this time, it's as much as a mystery to me as is to you.
Mahalo ahead of time to you time and help people out there!.

No problem, jack up the car so you can have a high & low end and drain the oil & water mix. Add new oil & filter and crank it up and run it until the water cooks out. Check your oil after you run it to see if it's just oil now

oh man you done it now! it's gonna rust together and seize!

;LOL

Done that before...

It really just burns you up because of the time you must now use to fix the first repair!

RTV and a good set of gaskets goes along ways. Almost as long as the proper torque sequence and just shear fate!

Don't beat yourself up for it though-

Smile- it happens to EVERYONE eventually!

Well, my buddy has a fishing boat, and was looking for an achor.:D

A motion detector light that stays on longer would be my first purchase. :duh

Cool! Mahalo once again to you and "Dark shark 78" for your help, I feel a little better now, and not so "embarrased" anymore, just a little.

I'm telling You!! I must have racked up mega miles just from the walking back an fouth, everytime to re-activate the darn thing when it went out!. :D
It's my Dads place, so you know how that is, no changes to the house unless he doe's them himself. :nono

If you and I didn't make these kinds of mistakes, what would the rest of the members have to talk about?

:beer

Holy Mauii Wowie! I can just see running back&forth to get the motion light to stay on while you are trying to hold parts in place...
Don't worry, and kudos for sharing the story. I bet there are a lot worse out there but some people are too tight to share...
OK you want mine? Fine, I'm not too proud. Changed plugs in my Harley at an outdoors party a few years back. Didn't find out that I loosened my wire at the cap insertion until I'm threading my way down the driveway between solid parked cars on both sides. The wire comes off and arcs against the engine sending these huge jolts of electric shocks up my arm from where I was holding the clutch lever in. Stalled and dumped into a car.
Nobody's perfect!
C'mon, share yours! (new thread needed?)
