Is the Callaway block or heads o-ringed? What kind of head gasket is used? Thanks

Although the assembly specs do not specifically state "O Ring Heads", the engine is thoroughly machined. You may want to send this question to Wayne at Callaway Cars wmccurdy@callawaycars.com
hope this helps :beer

No O-Rings

The TTs do not have any machining for O-rings between the block and head. Most of the TTs are only running 7.5:1 compression and around 12-12.5 pounds of boost. That's pretty mild. Some of the very late cars run 8.5:1 and higher boost of about 13.5-14 pounds. Still no special considerations. I've never heard of a Callaway blowing out head gaskets unless maybe it was really abused. As far as I know the gaskets are stock GM or maybe aftermarket like FelPro.

The machinging they did do to the block and heads is -

Machine the block (2-bolt) for splayed 4-bolt main caps
Line bore and deck the block
Deck the heads

They also used a cross drilled forged steel crank. I think they also changed the valve springs and possibly the valves themselves. There is no other machining to the heads - no bigger valves, no porting or polishing.

No problem, dude. :D
I also meant to point out that they use a bone stock L98 camshaft for whatever year car it was. The grind changed slightly over the five year life of the program.

Thanks for the info. I would like to see those cam specs too! Lots more questions to come:Buttslap :D
