Odometer on 1969

Hey Guys, I am looking at a 1969 Corvette Convertible as a potenital purchase. It is a 350 hp 350 cu in, 4-speed, factory side pipe car. Speedometer and Tach are supposedly factory meters. The face of the speedometer shows 160 mph and has the mechanical odometer and trip meters. The thing that seems odd to me is that the right most digit on the trip meter and the odometer are both black digits on a white background leaving only 4 digits to the left that are white digits on a black background as is normal for whole miles. Is this normal for a 69 or does it sound like the speedo has been tampered with. And yes the calibration is in mph on the face of the speedo. As always thanks for your input.

I checked my fact book. It shows the odometer having all five digits as white numbers and the trip meter having the right digit having black on white and the rest are white numbers. On my 70, all the numbers on the odometer are white.
