I need some help guys.
About a month ago, I replaced the weatherstrips on my 81 coupe. I put both t-tops on and left them for a week and then put the block out covers on after that.
Well this weekend, while getting her ready for our Indy Vette Sprints here in Australia, my wife noticed that the old drivers side glass t-top was cracked. :duh :cry

I have looked around here in Australia for people who could repair them and for any spares at a few of the Corvette guys who have parts here, but I am out of luck.
I do not really want to replace both of them at around $1000 US and am wondering if you guys knew of any good salvage yards that would probably have a good one in stock and who would be willing to send to me here in Oz?
The t-tops are grey smoke with a mirror finish.

Any leads to someone who has one would be greatly appreciated.
I can email a pic of the t tops to anyone who can help.

Thanks in advance

Tony

Tony,

Here is a link to one of the largest Vette salvage yards in the US. I don't know about OZ, but insurance in some states here will pay 100% for glass problems.

Hey Guy,

Reading the post and didn't see the link. I have the same problem, cracked one and the plastic replacements weren't a perfect fit. So if you could be so kind and post the link it would help us both out.

Thanx in advance

Guy,.....Sounds like someone else you know?....Remember in Hershey NCRS show I came in almost in tears with my 81. Except mine were the Blue flo mirror, I had new weatherstrips and seals just done two weeks before my problem. Drivers side 4 in stress crack.
I feel your pain Tony

Tony, I called my insurance company and explaned, driving in construction on the Highway and some objects were flying in the air from trucks and I heard a noise did not think anything at time because I am driving windows down and music blasting. When we had arrived to the Vette Show my daughter noticed it and I was ****ed. I have full coverage and they said no problem they gave me a number to call about this problem through my Insurance company, they asked me some questions and I made it clear that I need both replaced, because there is no way to match them. Reason being the age of car fading ect....Plus I told them I was going to be in a car show soon and it would be judged and they said no problem and all was paid for by my Insurance.
Only thing that bothered me was now I have grey mirror glass tops, because they stoped making the blue in 95......But that's ok. I was able to keep my originals too.
