Oiul Consumption

What oil consumption should I expect on my 2001 Corvette, 14K, light useage?

OIL USE

I have a '97 A4 and it uses one quart or less per change cycle. I have heard of other people who have much more consumption than this. At one time I believe that I saw some service bulletins about this and it was at least partly related to engine RPM (faster engine speed meant more oil consumption).

I have about 11K on my '01 6spd and I've purchased 2 qts since I purchased it new in APR '02. I've changed the oil twice so I guess it's pretty much like "DRTH VTR" said (i.e. 1 qt. in-between changes). I questioned the techs why these vehicles consume oil in this manner and I was told that it was due to the high performance engine. Of course, the harder you drive it the more oil it will use. I haven't driven mine in awhile so I couldn't tell you if it gets better with more mileage. :Steer

My 2000 hardtop uses about 1 quart between oil changes if I drive it moderately. If I drive it like I stole it and am always above 3000 rpm oil consumption goes way up. It all depends on how you drive.
