oil coolers/Canton Pans

I have an '81 4-spd. with an oil temperature gauge, and am wondering if anyone has fitted an oil cooler to a C3, preferably an '81? Also, does anyone have any experience with the Canton Racing 6 qt. oil pan?

I have the Canton 7-quart pan with a mechanical oil temperature gauge in my C4.
