Oil filter for 2003

Anyone know the difference between a AC-Delco PF44 & a PF46. Went to parts store to get a PF44 for my 2003, they said it was superceeded by PF46. Checked AC-Delcos web site they still show a PF44 for a 2003. They do show a PF46 for a 2004. Is it OK to use a PF46 on a 2003?

The PF-46 is the correct filter now. If you find a PF-44, it is older stock. I'm using a PF-46 on my 03 right now.

What about for the older C5's. I think you can use the PF46 as well because that is the new filter GM is using to replace the PF 44. Am I correct?

The PF44 has been replaced by the PF46. The new PF46 fits all C5's now.

I called ACDelco and they told me that the PF44 was discontinued and replaced by the PF46.
