What is this thing.......it has a black wire and blade contact point at each end............mine is not being used at all. :confused

I believe you're right, but I'm only going from memory (which sometimes fails me). Sometimes I wish I knew more so I wouldn't have to make up so much!:L

We Don't need No Stinken Radio Capacitor...!!!!! Mines disconnected anyway.

The exchaust is more fun to listen to then the Radio..!!:L

My 63 has something like that for the emergency brake light flasher.

It's the radio noise suppression capacitor for the brake light switch - you should find it in U69, Sheet A5 in your A.I.M.; it has a little copper "flag" on the end of each wire - they go in the female connector that plugs onto the brake light switch.

No, they go in the front of the connector - stick the "flags" into the female terminal slots, then push the connector onto the switch; the friction in the connection holds the "flags" in place.
