I've been reading the threads on the forum (up to page 3) and it seems like majority run the Blackwing filter. Any major reasons? Why that one over, like K&N, or the 2 cone filter elements? I seen the blackwing in catalogs for about $250 or so, but you don't get a air bridge that is bigger, like w/ K&N. I'm just curious whats the difference, I'll probably get a blackwing myself since it seems the most popular. Does that filter hang in the open or does it have a lid of some sort. Also w/ the air bridge, anyone know of some that are cheaper then $150. Seems like a lot of money for a piece of molded plastic.

PS
I read ,like on pg 2-3 ,about the 2 cone filter cause some sort of turbulance in the MAF and end up giving it funky reading. Any truth to that? Is that the ones at a 90* or the "Y" shaped one or both?

Thanks
Anthony

If you find a place that can do a custom air bridge, PLEASE let me know. I've been looking for some time now and can't find anything suitable for my application. :hb

Same day same track my trap speed went up 1.8 MPH with the Blackwing over the Vortex. Thats reason enough for me.

The stock air bridge will support well over 400hp. Don't waste your money looking for performance gain here, unless you've gone to heads/cam, etc mods.

Ken,

Did you try Halltech Inc. They make some beautiful Carbon Fibre bridges.

Man, I'm on a dial-up connection (temporarily) and that page from Callaway took forever to download. :hb

Thanks guys. I forgot I had comments in this thread or I would have updated y'all. :o

I settled on a piece of three-inch aluminum tubing to use until I decide what to do with the complete intake system. The air is filtered now; that was my main concern.

Thanks again! :CAC
