On-Star and XM on Corvettes

Just curious...what year did GM install On-Star on Corvettes? What about XM? I have a 2004 Z16 Z06 and it does not have that option...surely they were around before then.

I'm pretty sure that On-Star began with the first C6 in 2005, hence that ugly assed lump on the rear deck of the vert.
