I bought this Vette in June and it had good close to new tires on it.They are 255`s on all four wheels.I know the front tires are wider than intended for the car because when I make very sharp turns.Like in a Parking lot,my front tires scrape on the inside of the wheel well.
Some questions, what was the original tire width for the later Sharks? Also will having wider tires on all four affect my acceleration and how much would the speedo be off?Which way would it be off?

There were two tire sizes available in 1980 - 225/70R15 and 255/60R15. Wider tires would not have any affect on your speedo, it's the tire height that would make a difference. Wider tires whould however increase traction so in theory would increase accelleration at least a tad.

Here are a couple of links to info at Tire Rack that may help you out - Sidewall Markings Explained, Calculating Tire Dimensions.
