My 72 has a holley carb, is there a way to make an original base fit? Spacer?
or possibly use another year dual snorkle ?
If not , i guess ill just get an open element chrome smooth lid from summit or ?

Ithink with the lt1 they had a chrome open element with finned valve covers, ill check out some pics...

What type of Holley? An original LT-1 carb and manifold? Spread bore Q-Jet replacement? Aftermarket square bore manifold and carb?

I have a Holley spread bore I sometimes swap out for the Quadrajet on my 1970. The original open element filter won't clear the longer body of the Holley. But the original dual snorkel element that's used late 70 - 72 will fit either carb.

This is an aftermarket squarebore , i can see where your spreadbore would work. But this one is prolly longer, i was on the phone with a guy who had a holley and an original air vleaner, he tried and said it wssnt dished enough to drop down on the holley, wish i had one to try, a small spacer might work, but might also hit the hood!
Oh well, open element it is for now....
