1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
So I have always been told keep an exyra set of point in the car "just in case"

And every car I have ever owned I always kept a set of point in it.

Well today I am on parade duty with my cady and she laid down on me.

For sure I figure its a fuel problem (every time I think its a fuel problem its an ignition problem and vice versa)

So I get her towed in

And I put the dwell meter on it as I feel its a fuel problem (so it must be ignition) and sure enough NO dwell. pull the cap all looks good but still no dwell. after checking and rechecking I install a new set of points and a condenser and she came back to life.

Still can figure out why they failed (must of been the condeser?)

So although its not a C1 or a C2 it just re-affirms if you runnin a car with points make sure you have a spare set in the glove box

Sharp Cadillac-------Probably haul a lot of queen candidates in that. J

condenser. Even a corroded mount on it can make the engine die. I hope you bought a good brand. I learned yrs ago cheapo points don't last.

I agree. Condensor. No doubt about it.

It's sad to see the tug boat moving the Caddy back into dock but at least it wasn't anything serious.

She's a beauty. I was a parts manager in an Olds-Caddy deaaler back when these beasts roamed the earth. I always loved the big convertibles.
