Does any body know how to replace the TRUNION for the mirror on the outside of the car, the TRUNION is the X looking piece to keep it from wobbling around
Thanx in advance

The mirror snaps on to two arms of the trunion. The other two arms of the trunion snap onto the mirror motor.

First get a towel and lay it on the door so when you pull the mirror off you can lay it on the door and not scratch the door paint.

Manually move the mirror around with your hands until you can grab the backside of the mirror with your fingers. Pull straight back towards you and the mirror should unsnap from the trunion.

A shakey mirror can also becaused by loose screws that hold the motor bracket to the mirror housing. You can tighten 2 of them but to get to the third one requires removal of the mirror motor.

Remove the 3 phillip head screws I circled in red. Once you remove those screws the mirror motor comes off. You'll see 3 more phillip screws that hold the mirror bracket to the mirror housing. These screws can back off and cause a shakey mirror.

I turned the mirror to look inside the car then slide a flat screw driver between the trunion and the motor housing. Twisting the screw driver popped the mirror and trunion off into my hand. If you put the screw driver between the mirror and the trunion, you take the chance of breaking the mirror.

Like above, a shakey mirror is probably due to the loose screws in the housing and not the trunion.

You guys are too good, will have to wait until later this week since its 105 outside now in phoenix and supposed to go to 111 today
thanx again
