Is the voltage regulator dying?I just got this car back together after injector replacement. The fact that the plenum has to come back off to fix this, not too happy. This car is starting to get on my F*CKING nerves.I start the car and the guage goes to 18 volts.I havent checked anything with a Volt meter. Is there anything else it could be,I know its the Alt but just looking for clues.

You may not be looking for anything. One problem is the stock analog gauges are not very accurate.

For any serious electrical system diagnosis you need a DMM and a battery tester.

Connect your DMM to the battery, then fire the engine. In a quick-and-dirty test. It should charge above 14v for a short while then end-up down around 13-14v once the warms a little.

More detailed testing is explained in the FSM.

I replaced the regulator, problem fixed. Now,if I can just get through the month without taking the plenum off one more time,Ill be happy:rotfl

Repeat after me:

The plenum is my friend.
The plenum is my friend.
The plenum is my friend.
