Have you ever heard of an "Abuse Code" or some type of "Lock Code" that GM puts on a PCM? Perhaps randomly puts on a car? Meaning, every-so-soften this is done? I have a 2001 A4.

This is the case:

My car had a 436ci Forged Stroker installed, FLP Tranny, BeCool, Lin-Lok, t-stat and several other mods.

Everytime the tuner trys to program with LS1Edit it will not take any of the changes. They have the most current version of Edit and all changes and updates. The PCM has been flashed to stock 3 times and this happens everytime. Any ideas or help is appreciated....by anyone.
Thanks

Hi there,
No, I have never heard of that before.
Simple solution, is to purchase a new PCM that does not have any calibrations thus far.
I have seen issues with PCM not taking aftermarket reprograms, however, it is not because of any lock being present.

Well, they did. It wouldn't take on my original PCM so they bought a new one. They had the new one flashed to stock and it still won't take LS1Edit. The thing is they have done many 2001 A4's before with Edit and it worked fine. Why all of a sudden wouldn't it work?

I am sick to my stomach over this. I have spent so much and the car sits there. I did a 436ci stroker, FLP LEvel IV tranny, and all the mods to compiment it (Fuel, Cooling, etc)......no ideas? This is killing me. I don't understand why Edit will not work suddenly on my 2001 A4.

If the dealer tried flashing info onto the PCM from say a 2002 or newer would the new PCM take the info? Maybe they are flashing more than 2001 info on it that's why the 2001 LS1Edit programming is not taking...? Possible? Or is it that since it is a 2001 A4 PCM .....only 2001 info will be able to be loaded onto it?

Hi there,
No, as long as you give the correct VIN, there is no way a different calibration can be used.
Honestly, I dont know what else could be causing the issue. Are they isolating the PCM correctly to program it??????
Or are they just pluggin in the Edit, and trying to reburn the calibration????
If you do NOT correctly isolate the computer, you could fry it, or lock it up.
I would check that next.

Honestly I don't know. I would think they know what they are doing. They are one of the biggest tuners around and have done many cars with Edit. That's why this is so perplexing. Damn, I am so bummed. They are on the second PCM now and this one is not taking a progam either.
