Thats right.Gone.No more Delta!!Trying to get him down here in Savannah. We got plenty of aircraft to work with right here.Besides My Vette could use a paint job....Hint!

It's unfortunate that this is happening more and more.....I wish him the best.

I'm wondering how many people that have been in aviation for several years who when faced with this type of decision are venturing outside aviation? I know I would love to! The business is getting way too cutthroat and I'm tired of seeing the exec's walk away with golden parachutes after driving the company to the grave.

Good luck P. Daddy!

No,No,you got my PM wrong,Yes Im leaving Delta(thank god)but not to go work on more airplanes. Its not the airplanes I hate its the aviation business.I built a bigger shop and am leaving to do restoration work full time.Very nerve racking decision but I think its going to be for the best.Do you work for big D also roadster.

Best of luck Paint....
Nope, I worked for ASA for 12 years before they were sold to Delta. I have spent the last 8 years working for a company that overhauls engines, mainly regional jets and airlines like ASA, Skywest and Comair have been my customers.
I still have several friends at these places so I hear some of the stories going 'round.
It's sad to see the financial shape of the US airlines today. They are feeling the pinch, along with all of the employees, and this trickles down to us vendors as well.
Personally I would love to get out of aviation as well but it's all I have done for 25 years and it's risky to say the least venturing out on your own. Hopefully some day soon!

Good luck to you too,Ive been at delta for 17 and its had its ups and downs but dont see it ever being like it was.Good for you though, regionals are the best thing going now.My wife works in the engine shop.

Hear any rumors about Delta selling TechOps???
Kinda been figuring that was an option since they sold ASA to Skywest for a 425 million cash infusion.
Now we are all watching to see how the pilot thing goes....sounds like you are getting out while the gettin's good.

The rumor about Techops for sale is cold and hot, right now cold.Last year they contracted out all heavy maintenance to two places. One of the places cancelled the contract this month.Latest rumor is they cant find another contractor to do the 88s and 37s but I think its just someones wishful thinking.
